Biomedical Testing

Functional biomedical testing can be a helpful tool in allowing practitioners to focus on specific health concerns and create a bespoke plan for the individual they are supporting.

We use a range of tests, including organic acid, stool, blood and genetic testing, selected according to the individual’s history and health concerns. Each measures different markers or genetic variants, which we interpret alongside the wider assessment to inform recommendations. Results do not, on their own, establish the cause of a health condition.

Nutritional genomics is the study of the relationship between the human genome, nutrition and health. Genetic variations can influence how individuals respond to nutrients and environmental factors. Testing identifies these variants rather than directly measuring current gene activity.

Our expertise is in bringing these findings together with the individual’s medical history, symptoms and dietary assessment to identify areas that may need further investigation or nutritional support. Recommendations may include changes to diet and lifestyle and, where appropriate, nutrient supplements.

Laboratories we work with

At Brainstorm Health® we work with a range of specialist laboratories. The laboratories shown below are not an exhaustive list. Laboratory recommendations are based on clinical relevance, test quality, availability and the individual needs of each child.
